Sinbad and Sailor // Hepworth Dress

I sewed a sample for IndieSew recently and wanted to share it here.  It’s the Hepworth Dress from Sinbad and Sailor.  I really haven’t seen too many of these dresses out on other sewing blogs and it’s a really nice pattern.  I love the fit and flare style with the A-line skirt.  The bodice is princess seamed on the front and has darts on the back.  The skirt has darts on the front and back that match up with the bodice shaping.  It’s finished with an invisible zipper in the back.  And it has pockets!  It was a really fun dress to sew and I know that I will be making one for myself next Spring.  (I can’t tell you how long my sewing list for next Spring is getting! I sure hope I actually have time to sew when we have three kids!)

Here is the dress on Indiesew’s website.  It looks much better on a dress form!

Here are the pictures I took:

    1. I loved that fabric, too. Allie from Indiesew sent it to me and it was something she found at her local fabric store. It looked like denim but felt almost like a really stable knit. I’d never used anything like it before.
