I’m back today with another Washi Dress. This is yet another item made from Sarah Jane’s Out to Sea fabric line. The fabric is called My Favorite Ship.
I used the Washi expansion pack for this dress. I added the rounded Peter Pan collar. There is also an option for a pointed collar, which is very cute. I wish I had used a solid navy or maybe a contrasting color to make the collar stand out more from the rest of the dress. But, alas, I didn’t think about it until the dress was totally finished.
Instead of using elastic thread for the shirring on the back bodice I used elastic. The bodice of this dress is lined and the bottom of the lining is used to form the casing.
I am entering this dress into the Project Sewn Week 4 sewalong for Signature Style. I’d love your votes for my Pirate Ship Washi Dress when the voting goes live on Friday!

This style really suits you, great choice of fabric, I particularly like the pleats and the elastic in the back, as for the collar, I think it looks good. Good luck with Project Sewn. 🙂

That’s pretty much what I told myself. I would go crazy taking it all apart to change it.
